The Lentz family has graciously granted the use of Ron's call sign, N3WX to South Hills Amateur Radio Club. SHARC member, Mark Phillips, N8UVQ will be listed as the trustee of the call sign, which will be used for various club events and exclusively on the SHARC-3, 6-meter repeater. Paperwork has already been filed with the ARRL & FCC to change the club's 1st original & historic call sign, KB3BRF (which Ron also held as a club trustee) to N3WX. "Its a nice way to tie both call signs together" said Jim Mounts, KA3EBX. "Ron held both call signs and we'd like to keep their history together. We're extremely grateful to the Lentz family for letting SHARC use Ron's call sign. I know how much Ron enjoyed being a part of South Hills Amateur Radio Club and I know he would be pleased to see it used in this manner." Editor's Note: The club's first original & historic call sign, KB3BRF was recently transferred to club trustee, Mark Phillips, N8UVQ on July 14th, 2003. On August 2, 2003, the call sign KB3BRF was exchanged for N3WX. (Message edited by admin on November 04, 2015) |
