Modifying an 80's 2 meter Heathkit VF-7401 digital scanning transceiver. We've replaced the signal strength bulb with a LED. We also installed a 8-pin microphone jack that will allow us to use a new-style DTMF microphone and be able to change frequency using the microphones up/down buttons. The VF-7401 was the next model released by Heathkit after the popular HW-2036 of the late 70's and was our first 2 meter radio, which we still have.    (Message edited by admin on July 18, 2016) |
