I have a Garmin Nuvi 660. Shortly after I bought the unit, the battery went dead. I used it for the last year or two by plugging it into my car, and then decided to replace the battery (which upon reflection, I never should have done that). My husband replaced the battery (after much difficulty) and after that the touchscreen would not work. We calibrated it and installed software update, but it still doesn't work. The unit turns on, with the main menu appearing, but does not respond to touch. After researching all over the web, I came upon your site and I would like a quote from you for repair it. Do you guarantee that you can repair it and do you give any kind of warranty? Please respond as to how to start the process. Thank you. Hi Barbara, We prefer not to work on units that have been opened by the customer because in some instances there may be additional damage caused in the process that makes it difficult for us to quote. In some cases, the unit may not be repairable at all. In the past, we've spent more time "undoing" what was done by the customer, before we can even address the original problem. Without seeing the inside of the unit, we can not accurately provide a quote of what needs to be perfomed. The touchscreen may be defective, the flex cable may be torn or not seated right in the connector or the locking latch on the connector itself is broken and needs to be replaced.
