Michael Knight & KITT Ok, so how many of you are old enough to remember the 80's show Knight Rider? We all remember Michael Knight's (David Hasselhoff) computerized car named "KITT". Well, now you can add KITT's voice to your Nuvi... well, to a select few that is. You can install KITT on the following Garmin products: Nuvi 200, 500, 700, 800, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1600, 2200, 2300, 3700 & 5000, Nuviphone G60 and Garminfone. The voice is the actual voice of actor William Daniels who played "KITT" in the TV series. You can customize KITT's voice by selecting your own personal name from around 700 different names. No more boring "Recalculating".... KITT will say random phrases like "Jim! Are you trying to test me? OK, recalculating..." Or when you've reached your destination, KIT says, "Arriving at destination. Jim, Are we finished for the day? I'm really tired..." You will need to install Garmin Communicator onto your PC in order to install KITT on your Garmin product. Garmin Communicator will install the voice file and a voice unlock file. You will not be able to transfer the voice to another GPS unless you pay for an additional download to the new GPS. The cost of the voice is $9.95 USD and can be downloaded here: Navtones.com I've added KIT to (2) of my GPS's and I love it. I highly recommend it and I think you will find it a refreshing change to the standard voices. You may also get a few astonished looks from passengers in your car (Message edited by admin on October 26, 2010) |
