The Attention Tone is a simple chime that is meant to gain your attention before the GPS will tell your a course change. This feature is available on the Nuvi 3xx and 6xx series but was dropped for the Nuvi 2xx/2xxW and 7xx series.

It can be toggled on or off by pressing the "wrench" symbol at the main menu, then the "navigation" icon and then the "on/off" button besides the wording "Attention Tone".
