I cracked the lower left corner of the glass plate by pressing too hard (seriously!). Unit is under warranty, but Garmin won't cover this repair under warranty. The LCD screen is not damaged, but the touchscreen is intermittently unresponsive. Is this a repair that you will do, or will I have to send to Garmin and pay them since it's still under warranty? |

Hi Scott, Sure we can fix this problem, as long as the LCD is OK. We have observed that the manufacturer has used (3) different LCD displays during the production run of the 7xx series. We carry the original LQ043T1DG03 displays but not the newer ones. However, we can replace a damaged touchscreen and glass on any 1 of the 3 display versions. The manufacturer considers this problem as abuse and not a manufacturing defect. This can happen when the touchscreen is not very sensitive, causing the user to have to use more pressure than would normally be necessary to activate a particular function.
