One of the most power hungry devices in your Nuvi is the LCD display. The backlight and the LCD driver circuits consume the most power. One of the ways to lengthen the battery life is to dim the display. You can either do this manually or set the display to auto "time-out" and dim after a pre-set amount of time. Please note that the auto time-out feature is disabled whenever your Nuvi is powered by an external power source such as the car or wall adapter. You will still be able to manually adjust the brightness. (c)2010 SHARCNET-USA.
