If you find that your Nuvi is telling you to go Northwest or Southeast, etc. rather than giving you directions by street names, then your unit is set to "Off Road". You won't see any streets or street names, just a direct line to your destination. "Off Road" is like using your GPS as a compass. Now to get your Nuvi back to its normal operating mode, Press the wrench symbol at the main menu, then the Navigation menu and next to Route Preference, it will say "Off Road". Press "Off Road" and select either "Fastest Time" (using highways) or "Shortest Distance (using back roads). You'll now be back to the normal operating mode. |
