I've got a Nuvi 260 that I dropped with the USB cable in it and the USB will not connect anymore. I took it apart and noticed that the 3 middle pads are missing. If I send it in for repair can you still fix that or is it toast? http://s844.photobucket.com/albums/ab10/camhutch/?action=view¤t=IMG_0697.j pg |

No it's not toast. The connector needs either resoldered or replaced. The surrounding pins need soldered and then fine buswire needs soldered from the center leads to the USB chip. This is like micro-surgery and has to be done under a maginifier light. Also, a long term fix is to reinforce the connector so it doesn't come loose in the future. - Jim |

Thanks for the feedback Jim. I'll send that in when you are taking new jobs again. Cameron |
